Hey Diablo, that is great! Would you mind posting the exact steps you took so i can make a sticky post for others in the future? It seems this is a tough one and we could all benefit from this knowledge

Hey Sean, no problem. I basically just did what Aaron wrote in the preceding posts......

Here are the steps to view Traffic Vance pop ups:

1. You need to start with a clean slate, so make sure that you uninstall any Gamevance adware that is currently on your system if you have any on there.

2. Download Gamevance adware. Upon the recommendation of another member, I downloaded Gamevance via an affiliate link/ppc ad. This method worked, whereas downloading it from the Gamevance.com website did not, so you should try this method first. I had trouble finding Gamevance PPC ads, so I used my own affiliate link: http://tracking.wolfstormmedia.com/a...18&aff_id=1204. You guys are free to use it, or use your own.

3. Install the software.

4. After the software is installed, wait 24 hours for the adware to start working. It will not work right away, so don't waste your time!

5. Make sure to disable ALL of your pop up blockers, and anything else that can stop adware from showing. This includes: browser pop up blockers, tool bar pop up blockers (google tool bar has one), internet security settings, etc..... I'm normally a Mac guy but I bought a dedicated pc laptop for viewing pop ups, so I literally turned off all internet security settings. I'm not sure how bad this is, but I only use this laptop for one thing, so i'm not worried about viruses and whatnot......

That's about it. The steps were pretty simple...... Just keep in mind that after the adware is installed and you start visiting url's, you only get 1 pop per url in a 24 hour period, so don't keep refreshing your browser hoping to see another popup, it won't happen. Go to the next site...... Also I have no idea if this will work while running Windows in a virtual environment. Like I said earlier, I am running a dedicated pc laptop with Windows 7.

After viewing a bunch of pop ups over the last few days I have come to the realization that I'm over it for the most part....... 99% of the pop ups I viewed were direct links. Zzzzz...... I guess I was hoping to see unique landing pages and whatnot...... Don't get me wrong, I will still check, but less frequently from now on.......

Direct links are also good data to have though. You can do some research using "live http headers" to see where those clicks go. You'll see all redirects and can find out the tracking url used. From there you can also see all sites hosted on the server. That can uncover some profitable campaigns.

Oh wow thanks! How do I use live http headers? Is that a program? Or is it something I can access in firefox?

it is a Firefox extension - you can find it here:

I was thinking about using Live Http Headers, too.

But LeadImpact uses IE to serve the pops even though my default browser is Firefox. How do I see the headers with IE?

Also, TV says it will show users ads an average of four times a day, does anyone know if that's true?

Four pop ups per day might be the average, but if you're actively looking for ads on TrafficVance, you can get more than 4 per day.

Ten a day is not uncommon.
