Default Ignore ROI, it's all about PROFIT!

Another Tip: Ignore ROI and concentrate on PROFIT.

I don't know why, but I've spent the last year or so obsessing over my ROI number. I think it's b/c somewhere along the line I was taught that this number was the be all end all. And it sure is cool as hell to laugh at my friend's stock portfolio returns of 7% a year (if they're lucky). "Oh yeah, well I made a 301.876% ROI just last month!". All along I'm completely ignoring the fact that their net worth is in the millions, and my 300% ROI barely generated enough money for me to cover my expenses.

As most of you know I've put a lot of time into griping about the Tracker not working here. This is time I could have spent making money, instead of obsessing over where the conversions were coming from and my ROI %.

People talk shit about Super Affiliates like Jonathan Volk who spend millions a month, but don't post their profits, just their revenue. Well, I say bollocks to that. We all know JVolk is raking in the cash. Who cares if he has to spend that kind of money to get it. Obviously he has the money to spend.

As long as you're not going into DEBT, concentrate on profit and not ROI. I'd like to thank Particles for turning this light bulb on when he posted about changing his mindset to seeing how much money he could possibly spend each month.

If you're doing this game even remotely right, the more you spend, the more you make. No get out their and release the floodgates on your campaigns. Spend. Spend. Spend. You wanna be a Baller? Spend like one.

I agree, you can make a huge ROI by picking up coins on the street. You need to look at the scalability as well.

Thanks for reminding me. I need this as a wake up call. It really is an uphill battle to keep pushing offer after offer, test after test.

Offers come and go, the only constant you really can control is the amount of effort you decide to put in, especially when things get difficult (and they will).

Then when you hit that offer that takes off for you, you truly enjoy it since you put a lot of work into it.

So true, lol.

Hi, Roi and profit are acutally the same thing. if you get a 100% Roi that means to have increased your original investment by 100%. You could say my ROI IS 100% or my profit is 100%, both are correct.

Revenue is the of total sales generated, so, revenue - cost of sales = profit (roi).

Focusing on Roi is very good, focusing on revenue, as you point out is good for the ego but bad for actually making money

ROI != Profit

Profit = revenue - cost

ROI = [(revenue - cost)/cost]*100

Peter

Edit:

So what is beter $1,100,000 revenue with $1,000,000 cost (ROI = 10&#37 or $100,000 revenue with $10,000 cost (ROI = 900%) ?

Definitely focus on profit. It's nice to get a solid ROI but it doesn't matter nearly as much as cold hard cash.

If I had my choice of spending $100 to make $200 profit or spending $10,000 to make $1000 profit - I'd take the $1000 in profit any day.

Here's a quick spreadsheet calculator you can use (based on the formula above). Unzip and go!
