Default If You Suck at Writing Emails and...

If you suck at writing emails, you're not alone... so do I.

I found a great solution that I never knew existed until recently.

CPV is a great way to inexpensively collect emails. But I could never write good follow up emails to get people to respond.

The other day I found out that there are list management companies that will manage your list and market to them -- and give you a split of the CPA they get.

So if you have a large list, you can let one of these experienced list management companies mail letters and offers to your list. They know how to do it without burning your list (hopefully).

The ones I found charge a 60% fee of what they make, so you get 40% -- which for me is more than I was getting before.

And if an email company is not honest with you, then switch companies.

I can't recommend any certain ones, but do a search for email list management companies and ask around (your CPA network might know a few, hint).

ps. Be sure to seed your list with a few of your own email addresses so you can see what is sent.

yah, list management is a great option for larger lists. make sure you have all the optin records and like aaron said, a lot of the cpa networks offer this service.

aaron, question for you. did you discuss what they would be mailing? the reason i ask is that do you think it would be a problem if the team started mailing downloadable games to the list or no? i've always wondered if you could get kicked of the cpv network for mailing "prohibited" offers to the list you generated from their traffic. or is it a case of you own that data now and can do with it what you want? anyone?

also, for a quick reference. i spoke with my am of at monetizeit.com a long time ago now about this. at the time they wanted a list of 100k min to start (which is totally doable with cpv). not sure what terms have changed, but of course they want the records to be clean and traceable.

Yes. Mailing gaming offers could cause a problem.

The lists I have are interested in (or buyers of) offers in a different niche than gaming. So the mailings are also in that niche and in a few other popular ones, but not gaming. I should give gaming a try and see what happens

List management is definitely useful - it's not a service we provide yet as a network but it's something I'm looking into.

even better: sign up for your own list, send it over to list management, store all their messages, re-write their copy. keep the 60% profit

If you want to see what's being mailed, hit offervault.com and start signing up on all the lead gens and page ones of offers.

You'll begin seeing some common things mailed and more importantly high open rate subject lines and solid ad copy ,not to mention landers and offers.

I've never taken a rev share deal that wasn't 50/50 with an agreement to split reasonable mailing costs out of the profits.

60% I assume they are factoring in mailing costs on their end but 10% is high. The money is the data, anyone can learn how to mail it right and often do a better job than most networks.
