Default Do not duplicate your listings in hopes of getting more traffic

Well, I have yet to test this with more campaigns but my observations so far:

If you have a well performing campaign but you want more traffic, the most natural thing to do is duplicate your listings so that you are dominating the top 5 rankings for each target. It took me a while to figure this out but to keep this simple. DON'T do that! This will give you more traffic but it will sink your ROI.

It happens because every listing has a "unique visitor length" or however it's called right? An amount of time that your pop up won't show to the same user. Usually it's set for 24 hours or something. That's what I keep it at. BUT when you duplicate your listings, what ends up happening is that one user can end up seeing your popup for up to 5 times within that time range. Not just once. That's because the time range is set to each unique listing, NOT the campaign so while each listing is running, you're wasting TONS of impressions on uninterested viewers.

Keep in mind this is only for TrafficVance. It might apply in other networks but I haven't tried or looked.

Anyone else have experience with this?

It's the "frequency" setting you're refering to. It adjust how often they'll show your ad in a 24 hour period. If you want more traffic, you could increase the frequency but then the same person is seeing it and not doing it again.

I would leave it at 24 hours.

heh i know coach. i was mainly focusing on not duplicating listings to dominate the top 5 or something spots for a keyword or URL because the frequency settings effectively become useless. each of the 5 listings show it's popup to the same user within the 24 hours therefore in the worst case scenario, the same IP sees your popup 5 times within 24 hours even though each listings frequency is 24 hours.

that little tip bumped one of my campaigns from 0% ROI to 100% ROI
