Default Thanks Coach...

Thanks Coach for all your help!

I don't know if this is really enough to boast about...

Last month I spent around $7,000 on PPV and had around $14,000 in sales. Using my knowledge of simple math, I netted $7,000.

My goal is to get to twice this amount each month.

Things I've learned so far -- maybe this can help some in the forum.

1. Don't give up. It's ok to be discouraged, I feel that way often, especially each day that my net is 1/2 the prior day's net revenue -- but then it jumps back up again.

2. Test everything. I have things working for me that contradict some of the general wisdom contained here. I also have things working for me that completely confirm the general wisdom taught here. You never know until you try.

3. Tracker. Find a way to make it work for you -- play around with it, try changing your URLs and see what it looks like in your db table. I used the earlier versions of the PPV tracker here and had fairly good results. Now for PPV, I actually use the PPC Coach tracker v1.13 so I can keep all my campaigns under one tracker -- and I don't have to worry about separating out the subid's from my CPA network reports. (I figured out a way to force my PPV url links to work with the PPC tracker and it's been working very well for me. PM me if you'd like details.)

4. Set a budget and spend it each day. I was always worried that I wasn't getting enough sales for my ad spend, so I wouldn't spend enough money each day in order to make money. Now, I'm working on spending $400-$500 daily. I do what I can to spend that amount, and each day I take out the things that were not working from the prior day and add more campaigns in order to get back to spending my daily budget again. At $300 per day ad spend, you find out what's not working really quickly, but in the process you'll find some gems and you keep them running (test everything).

5. When stuck... ask Coach. Coach answered my PMs and those answers gave me encouragement to keep going. Others here have also helped me to which I'm thankful -- I won't name them here otherwise they could get a lot of PM's.

Thanks Aaron for the post. It'd be motivational for guys here who haven't made it to work yet. I'm spending $1000 per month with revenues of $2000.

Couple of questions:
How many total campaigns? How many successful ones?
All direct linking to offers or you using any landing pages?

Great post, much needed motivation, thanks. May I also ask a couple of questions?

- Which PPV networks are you using?
- Roughly how many impressions do each of your campaigns get each day?

I'm struggling with traffic, at least I think I am, so I'm really interested to find out how much we can expect to get from the networks. Thanks!

Total campaigns: around 250, estimating around 5,000 urls

Successful ones: My campaigns fill around 5 screens in the Coach's tracker. At any given day, around 2 1/2 pages are successful campaigns that are making 20-1500% return, 1 page has those campaigns where not much was spent (either breakeven or not enough spent to determine if profitable), and 1/2 page would consist of campaigns that lost money (but usually the total loss is not near the profits). I check for daily stats and for the weekly stats using Coach's tracker and then make adjustments.

Direct Linking or Landing Pages: Both -- and around a 50/50 mix. Some campaigns made 3 times more when I created a landing page. Some campaigns it made the same money for lander or direct.

- Which PPV networks are you using?
- Roughly how many impressions do each of your campaigns get each day?
PPV networks: The big 3 mentioned here... Zango, MediaTraffic and TrafficVance

Impressions: I shoot for at least 10,000 per day. Lately it has been around 17,000 daily.

Good job Aaron! Your hard work and persistence has paid off.
Thanks for the kind words. It really means a lot to me.

No need to pay me.

I'm glad to share, as so many here have shared things with me.

I hope I can make my process understandable.

I can't say I understand it yet but you sent a LOT of info!

Thanks! At the least, I'll try to play "pass it on" once I've learned

Not enough to boast about? Give yourself a break man, $7,000 on PPV alone is pretty awesome. I assume you've got some PPC campaigns going too. I PM'd you about the Tracker workaround you've got going, but I had a few other questions that I thought I'd post here for everyone's benefit.

-Do you just bid on the Page One listings (both organic and paid), for your campaigns or do you go all out and gather as many URLs as possible? For example: you say you have 5000 URLs total, but I've launched single campaigns with 2,000 URLs. I'm assuming you start your campaigns small?

-You say that half your campaigns are Landing Pages. Does this include banner ads, or other size "pop-ups", or do you just use your own domain, like a traditional LP in say a PPC campaign?

-What do you do about exit pops and offer LPs with audio and video? Do you just ignore those offers or do you change your rotations after approval to include them and hope you don't get caught?

-What do you do about "conflicting" URLs from one campaign to the next. For example say you are promoting two diet offers one Acai and one Colon Cleanse (like all the freaking fake blogs out there ruining the internet ). When you use the URL tools here and elsewhere you will get a lot of the same URLs since the niches are related. How do you check / delete duplicates from one campaign to the next.

I know this is a lot but I hope you can help me and the others. I have a new funding source so maybe I'll be up there with you in terms of earnings in the next couple months.

Well... Let's see:

Not enough to boast about? Give yourself a break man, $7,000 on PPV alone is pretty awesome. I assume you've got some PPC campaigns going too. I PM'd you about the Tracker workaround you've got going, but I had a few other questions that I thought I'd post here for everyone's benefit.

I have a few PPC campaigns, but nothing to write home about. I could truly use more help in that area and I realize I need to do more there and then just ask for help in the PPC Coach forum.

Fortunately, I just had a large joint venture partner buy a portion of one of my offline businesses for a significant amount of money, so I'm going to throw a lot of cash into doing more PPC (my goal being to find a profitable way to spend $30k+ per month for the next year).

-Do you just bid on the Page One listings (both organic and paid), for your campaigns or do you go all out and gather as many URLs as possible? For example: you say you have 5000 URLs total, but I've launched single campaigns with 2,000 URLs. I'm assuming you start your campaigns small?
Mainly page one listings, however I also run Coach's url tool and add those URLs to my results. I also check offline sources to find heavily advertised urls in any given niche (found some real winners there that no one doing online-only URL research would ever find).

I'll have anywhere from 200 to 1000 URLs in a campaign and then I quickly eliminate those that don't perform. So when the dust settles, there's only a couple URLs in the campaign and I run it for as long as it keeps producing.

-You say that half your campaigns are Landing Pages. Does this include banner ads, or other size "pop-ups", or do you just use your own domain, like a traditional LP in say a PPC campaign?
I use my own domain similar to a traditional LP. Sometimes I'll use the merchants html-email graphics and place them into a landing page (as long as the campaign allows contextual).

-What do you do about exit pops and offer LPs with audio and video? Do you just ignore those offers or do you change your rotations after approval to include them and hope you don't get caught?
In the past I've ignored those offers and would not run them. I haven't tried to change out offers after the rotations are approved. This is not meant to be critical of anyone that does change their offers after approval, however I figure if the network is trying to preserve their business model, I'll do all I can to follow their rules.

Lately, I've been maintaining control by having my own landing pages that go on to the merchant's offer upon a click from the visitor. After visitors go through my landing page, if the merchant has audio or exit pops, it doesn't seem to matter to the network and everything is good.

I don't worry about it -- except I make sure I'm not bidding against myself (such as raising my bids in one campaign in order to be higher than my bids in another campaign which I forgot where my bids ).

I know this is a lot but I hope you can help me and the others. I have a new funding source so maybe I'll be up there with you in terms of earnings in the next couple months.
Not a problem. My next steps are to outsource what I do, so that I can put more campaigns out there, both for PPV and for PPC.
