Default what to do when the URL's are too long

I am trying to bid on a URL in MediaTraffic, however they only allow 40 characters in the URL. Any workarounds, or do I just have to accept that I need to go broad?

The better and trusted way is to install wordpress with link shortener plugin like "simple urls, pretty link etc.." and use it.
