Default Best Web-Only Alternative to FTP

OK, so I can't use ftp when I'm at the university library in my hometown, where I try to escape to to get work done.

What is a good file-upload/editing web work-around? I find the web hosts Control Panel options a little clunky.

Why not are they blocking port 21? If it is your own server you can run ftp on a different port. Or try winscp it uses the ssh port 22 if you have ssh access. You can install a upload script really easily that would work on port 80 that should work.

Well, I also can't use Napster, the music subscription service, so I had assumed they were blocking everything but http. But maybe I should try what you're saying...

Cpanel has a file manager you can use, (if you have cpanel).
