April CPV Lab Contest Giveaway #1!

We are ready to run another incredible contest
this month at CPV Den and give away 2 more copies
of CPVLab! This month can level the playing field
for newbies as you don't need any CPV experience to
participate. :) There will be two ways you can win.

The first way is by promoting CPVDen.com. It's
really simple, we want to grow this forum to epic
proportions and we need your help! And your help will
be rewarded :D We will randomly draw a user that
has promoted our site during the month of April.
The drawing will work on a points system. Since
some methods of promotion are harder than others,
we will recognize. You can earn by simply doing
the following during this month:

1) permanent blog post (with link back to cpvden.com) = 10 entries
2) articles about CPV (with link back to cpvden.com) = 10 entries
3) tweet (with link back to cpvden.com) - 1 entry per tweet
4) forum post (with link back to cpvden.com) - 1 entry per post
5) blog comment (with link back to cpvden.com) - 1 entry per post
6) facebook post (with link back to cpvden.com) - 1 entry per post
7) permanent link on your site - 5 entries per link
8) email sent to your mailing list - 10 entries

If I have missed a promotion method, let us know!

Please come back to this thread and tell us where you
are promoting us so we can keep track! If you don't post here
we won't know.

Good luck!

-- Persnickety hat on -- The contest seems a bit ambiguous to me. :p

It seems like a permanent link on a site is a big obligation and can have varying levels of impact. It's "easier" to put up a link than a blog post, but a link stays in a static location. For example, if I put up a permanent 125x125 image link to you on my main sidebar, that will eventually be worth a potentially large amount of money (as my site grows). But if another person puts up a small text link on their "links" page, only accessible through a footer link on their about page, that's not worth much.

And of course, if John Chow puts up a link, tweet, or post, that's worth a WHOLE lot more than if I do those things. Heheh.

And a question of curiousity, if I put a link to you on several different sites that I run, does that count as more entries?

Sorry, I tend to easily notice these kinds of details.:o

Also, is there a tally (and it's just empty because nobody's entered?) ? I don't want to spend a few hours earning some entries, if somebody else already has a huge number. :p

And --- what if I buy it myself and then win a copy? Hahah.:p

Finally, the lack of activity here could be due to people not having blogs, twitter followers, mailing lists, or IM related facebook profiles. However, the other methods like comments and forum posts would still work fine.

These are all great points. But it is difficult to quantify quality vs. quantity. I was trying to keep it simple :)

True, but he is not competing!

Each link will count if on different sites.

Only chrisd is competing right now and he PM'd me. I will update this thread with his points in just a minute.

Well, I don't know what to tell you there!

That's why I tried to level the playing field. Anyone can post on Digital Point or comment on blogs, so anyone can compete :)

Chris wants to win! Anyone ready for some competition? Chris took a couple hours of his time and did some mad promotion! Here is a summary the best I can tell:

  • Added a blog post on his blog, as well as a banner on his blog and 4 permanent backlinks
  • created an ENTIRE new blog! (what a great idea, anyone can do this for free at wordpress.com) He entered categories and posts
  • Created and uploaded a Youtube video AND same video uploaded 7x under diff names all with backlinks in description + 2 bl in channel!
  • A facebook post
I am not even sure how to tally up the points here, but so far no one else is competing. If anyone jumps in, I will quantify it and keep an accurate tally.

Thank you Chris!

Chris, let me know if it is ok to post your links here. If not, that is ok :)

chrisd 04-15-2011 08:50 PM

hey np denmaster! just PM'd you some more links :D you can post the list if you want but then they become reciprocal (i think) and lose some SEO value, it's your call tho. cheers!

denmaster 04-18-2011 02:14 PM

Chris has added even more links/promotions including a twitter account and feed and some more articles. Great work Chris!
