Default What am I doing wrong?

First off let me just say sorry for the length of this post, I just would like to give you the proper information for a good response. So im new to cpv and I decided to go with direct cpv mainly cause that was the first network I was introduced to. So after being two weeks I almost spent $11.00 and had 2 conversions!? Since then I have been changing things daily I run keyword and url campaigns with no success. Right now im currently running several games - "Battlestar galactica" "Duck hunt" "deal or no deal" "last chaos" and "shaiya". I got one conversion on last chaos but that was after a couple hundred views and at that time I did not have tracking set up. Since then I have set up tracking and have started even more cpv campaigns. I have a groupons campaign going that is a simple email submit. I have a keyword campaign and a keyword campaign both going for groupons and have nothing! Is direct cpv that great of a network? I seem to be doing horribly with it. As for the keyword campaign (groupons) I have over 30 keywords. Also just a not when I first started I used url scrapers and keyword suggestion tools so I had a large number of urls and keywords. Just cant get a conversion to save my life any help would be greatly appreciated

My advice would be to get creative with the keywords you're bidding on. Think about who your target audience for each of those games is and then bid on other keywords that may be of interest to them. For example, think about the average Battlestar Galactica fan and what his other interests might be. Battlestar fans tend to be kind of "nerdy" and like intelligent/scientific TV shows like Stargate, Firefly, etc. Also, if there is something similar out there to the game you're advertising, players of that game might be interested in yours as well (for example, Eve Online is another outerspace MMORPG). Good luck!

So I was thinking and maybe part of my problem is killing off urls / keywords a little early. How many clicks would you take on any given url / keyword without a conversion before killin it?

I like to spend the payout. So if it is $1.50 payout, spend $1.50 and assess.

I would also spend the payout and if it does not yield a conversion, kill it. If you're hopeful about a particular keyword or URL, or it's gotten you conversions in the past, set a timeline for it to start converting again before you pause it. I sometimes assess my keywords on a weekly basis because there are some keywords that tend to average out and still return a profit, even if you spend the payout on them on some days with no conversions. Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I have one url that converted but after two days of it not converting again getting about 40 clicks (views) each day I killed it. Earlier today I decided to give it another try with just that url. After this im gonna change offers

Good call. It can be very tempting to keep URLs that have converted in the past around out of hope that they'll convert again, but that kind of thinking will lose you money if you've already given them a fair chance and found them to be unprofitable overall. However, you do need to test them over a predetermined period of time before deeming them unprofitable. Best of luck with your new campaigns!

Exactly. Three things you must do:

1.) Never become 'married' to a keyword or url, always be willing to dump it in a heartbeat if it's not working.

2.) Try bidding more on urls instead of keywords, urls work better for conversions.

3.) Keep us posted on this, we'll help you get profitable.

Hey TLommy

Limme tell you one thing, $11 and 2 conversions is a very good start to PPV.

I burned through a lot of money before ever seeing a conversion when I started.
