Default Domain Or Not

I have been reading alot that people are making new campaign, and landing pages. Some even made couple of landing pages. My question is, where do you put your landing page/campaigns at? Do you create another website or buy a domain with targeted keyword? Or do you use free hosting?

With cpv I just would have 1 domain and run multiple campaigns on it. Don't use free hosting becaus its not reliable.

I've noticed that some will use a URL related to the vertical they are promoting, but I think the effect of a unique URL for a PPV campaign seems to be very small so don't worry about it. http://yourdomain.com/campaign_name/ will be fine. If you have a long term campaign that is kicking ass you could register a specific domain and see if that helps conversions, but usually the name of the game is speed and flexibility so just use one domain and get your campaigns up and running.

I will say that I definitely register a new domain if I am going to build an SEO'd site around an opt-in newsletter or start a proper PPC campaign on Google or something.

I agree that shared hosting is too slow. Remember shared hosting is even slower if you send a surge of traffic to your box. Also this is interruption marketing... you only have a few seconds before your window gets closed. Don't use most it waiting for your page to load. So as soon as you can afford it get a faster box. I use Media Temple's Dedicated Virtual which runs about $40/mo which works well for the amount of traffic I send currently.
