Default Building a list, single opt in or double??

Hi,

I'm looking at doing a prepop for an email submit offer, but have been told by my aff manager that doing single opt in can be very risky so advises against it, would does everyone reccomend? I thought most people would be doing single opt in? for these type of offers??

thanks

Are you actually storing the user's e-mail or just using your form to pre-pop the offer?

Single, always - it becomes way too expensive for double. 95% of the time you wont run into problems.

Double opt-in->they confirm->aweber pass data to your script->you get the email with something like this
$email = $_GET['email'] and pre-pop the offer. I have another question:

I am using Facebook Connect almost on every my page. What I get from this is users First & Last name, email address, gender, birthday. Facebook said that every user who is connected to my Facebook connect app is like confirmed email subscriber - I can email them, all I need to do is to include unsubscribe link in the end. So can anyone recommend me self hosted standalone autoresponder, because I don't want to mess with Aweber, I heard a lot of stories for legit email marketers being banned for nothing?

Try out E-goi. It's a multichannel marketing platform for relationship marketing purposes. there u have the option to chose for single or double opt-out - with or without emailconfirmation.

The tool has interesting features for what u are trying to do.

glad to help

This is an option for a self hosted email management tool:

Email Marketing | Email Marketing Software | Interspire Email Marketer
