Default Target passthrough not working?

I don't understand how to get it to work and I even asked my AM who sort of repeated the same thing that the page says.

Does anybody have the exact format? Target_Passthrough? target_passthrough?

I'm lost on this and I'm not using the excel uploader...

Thanks!

Oh Nevermind. I unintentionally figured it out. Durp.

For anybody having trouble:

You add:

&target_passthrough=

to the end of your tracker string where you're expecting a subid.

I wonder if this will get a response :P

Like this?
(A)
trackerdomain. com/tracker/a.php?campaign=Campaign-Name&source=mt&z=0&b=1&keyword=&target_passthrough=

Or like this?
(B)
trackerdomain. com/tracker/a.php?campaign=Campaign-Name&source=mt&z=0&b=1&keyword=target_passthrough

Or something else?

If that's my tracker then no that's not quite right. The subids are passed through the affiliate link which should end with "&subid1=" then it will append a unique click id to that.

It seems I am misunderstanding the function of the target passthrough. I guess I just won't worry about it until I think I need it.

No, you've got the concept, but logistically it's the setup that's getting you.

You setup the affiliate link in the tracker under offers.

You're a.php link doesn't pass the subid through, your affiliate link does.

Thanks for the replies.

Yeah I've got affiliate links in there, and just today fixed them to append the tracker's unique ID's properly. Is target passthrough redundant with Tracker's function? Or does it give more detailed information than what is already being passed when we use the tracker like shown in the video? It already knows the target based on the a.php link assigned to and used by the traffic source, right? Since each target URL gets it's own a.php link.

I'm still a little confused about this particular target_passthrough, but I don't think I need it just yet anyhow, I need to do more testing and generate some revenue first.
