Default Question About A Possible Media Traffic Strategy

Has anyone tried doing your keyword research for an offer(s) and just dumping the entire URL list into your target list on MT and then whittling the target list down to ONLY the URLs with competitive bids?

This just occurred to me, and I'll try it when I start up my next campaign. Didn't know if this was a technique any of you had tried before.

I understand that this would limit your discovery of untapped URLs, but my thoughts are that since these URLs are being bid on they might have a better chance of converting.

Any thoughts?

Haven't tried this exactly, but the problem I see with it is that the URL scraper will pull / include a lot of general or unrelated domains. These can really drain your budget, which is why as annoying as it is you should "clean" your URL list. Using the technique above there is a good chance you would get some URLs that people are bidding on b/c they convert for other offers, maybe even an entirely different niche than what you're planning on showing.

Or I guess if you've got a bigger budget than I do you could just dump everything and then test them all.

Lol! I don't have a big budget at all!

What I was getting at, and failed to mention in the last post, was that you would still clean your keyword list and get rid of the crappy URLs, but then you would use MT's competitive CPV feature to FURTHER whittle down the list to ONLY the URLs that have competing bids. After a cleaning like that, you'll likely be left with only a handful of URLs to bid on. The idea is that since those URLs are getting bids, there is a better chance at converting.

Default copy n paste url list to MT

hey guys

I just read your posts, and realized that ive been doing just that but with lots of keywords and not so many urls, which I hear are much more profitable. I just lauched 5 campaigns with about 350-400 targeted urls for each campaign. I went through the list provided by the url tool, and for the ones that didnt seem to match my product, I simply visited the site and made a decision on wether to keep it or not. Takes a while, but I thinks its a relevent process. I let you guys know how it all works out for me!

Good luck guys!
