Default (Much) more views in MT than in Prosper202

Hi,

I'm running a campaign through Media Traffic and there is a big difference in the number of views shown in Media Traffic and Prosper202. I cannot figure out what the problem is.

2 days ago I saw all my tracking ID's and for example yesterday I did not.

Yesterday I had 282 views in Media Traffic and only 20 in Prosper202.
The day before yesterday I saw 199 views in Media Traffic and 122 in Prosper202.

I have my [[subid]] set and also have checked "target pass-through"

In some other posts I did see the same problem, but I couldn't find a clear answer.

I hope somebody can help me.
Thanks.

I don't use prosper either. Only my first ever PPV campaign was run through prosper, plus I was still on shared hosting (big mistake with PPV traffic).
So that would be my first question, are you using shared hosting? If you are it will never work unless you really control the flow of traffic somehow, like with very low volume targets.
If you are on shared hosting then the discrepancy is that your pops are never getting seen, hence the low views in prosper.
If you are using a vps or dedi, then I'm not really sure.

Good luck, Scott

Thank you for your replies. I'm not really sure what you mean with shared hosting?

I have a hosting account on Hostgator and made a separate database on this account for prosper202.

What are you using for your tracking? And do you have the same tracking options in it like prosper202 has?

hey sandra,

i think what he's getting at is that if your host doesn't have the resources required by your tracker and or campaigns, you could see dropped clicks or impressions. your tracker may not be serving up your ads as you're assuming. that's a possibility is all.

with all that said, 282 views/day isn't much at all though. are you talking about spyview? i think 202 filters out dupe ip's in the spyview. what is your freq cap for the campaign?

Hi Lucas,

Thank you for your answer. I'm still quit new to PPV, and you are using terms I'm not (yet) familiar with.

Are you assuming HostGator hasn't got the resources required for tracking? HostGator is one of the biggest, isn't it? I did make a different database for the tracking, because I learned that this had to be done. So what resources do they need to support the tracking?

What do you mean by 'freq cap'?

Yesterday I started a new campaign. So far today I have 299 views in Media Traffic. 77 views in on the site of my CPA network and 24 visitors in Prosper202. This frustrates me very much.....

I do have a max of $10 a day in Media Traffic, maybe that's why the numbers are not too high? I have no comparison, so I don't know what is normal...

Hi Lucas, now I know what you mean with freq. cap. I had it to twice a day, I will immediatelly change it to ones a day. Do you think that this is the problem?

Yesterday I had 601 views in Media Traffic.
On the CPA network the report gives 212 clicks with no subid.
And Prosper202 gives 37.

I did one test myself and it got through, including the subid.

So something is definitely going wrong. Is there anybody else that had an idea how to solve this problem?
