Default High CTR but no conversions

Hi all,

I could use some coaching here. I'm running a few campaigns through Media Traffic. I am split testing all campaigns.

My CTR is high. These are my numbers from yesterday.

Campaign 1 Views 599 Click through 327 CTR 54.59%
Campaign 2 Views 497 Click through 122 CTR 24.55%
Campaign 3 Views 449 Click through 206 CTR 45.88%

The numbers tell me that my landing pages do trigger. I did have 4 leads on the second campaign (not yesterday), but it is not nearly enough to cover my traffic cost.

The campaigns are a 1 or 2 page submit.

Is there anybody who has made conversions that has an idea what to do next?

Sandra

If you are getting a CTR like that but then no conversions you are either misleading people to get to your page, or your offer stinks.

You said you got four leads from the second campaign, so:

Campaign 2 Views 497 Click through 122 CTR 24.55%

4 leads on 122 clicks = 3.3% conversion.

Now look at those 4 leads and see which keyword/url triggered the lead. Something in there worked, it is your job now to see if it is profitable at the keyword level.

With the other 2, those clicks could either be spread out over so many targets that it is too early to tell, or that you have a high traffic drainer.

Hi denmaster,

I have run all three campaigns more days. The total numbers for the second campaign are:

views 1509 click through 285 CTR 18.89% leads 4

I try to make the landing pages be very 'in line' with the campaign page, so people don't think it is an other company. I do the same thing with all my campaigns and set my landing pages up the same way. I would really hate misleading people, but I'm still very new at CPA marketing, so I'm not that experienced in seeing what is a good offer and what offer stinks.

Can you explain to me what a 'traffic drainer' is?

What I am saying is now you need to track down to the target level which ones gave you the conversions.

By drainer I mean there might be a target in there with 500 views and zero conversions. you need to stop that one immediately as it is draining your budget.

You need to have a rule of how long to run a target. The most common is to spend your offer amount in views. So for example if you have an offer that pays $1.50 and you have spent a $1.50 on one target and have gotten zero conversions, then pause that target.

Aha, OK. I've spent a total of $62.97 on this campaign and made 4x$8=$32.

I have 166 targets running on this campaign. It would be a bit crazy to spend an average of $8 on every target?

I did 'kill' the targets that got a lot of traffic and no conversions after your reply. Also I killed a target that got 698 views and only 1 conversion.

It is quit frustrating to have to 'invent the wheel' in this business, because I have nobody to level with. I have not met anybody who comes from The Netherlands who does CPA marketing. So it is great to have found this great forum. Thank you for all your good work!

You are on the right track now, you have to test test and test some more in this business. Sometimes it can be costly testing, but then you have the data.
