Default Iframing The Offer

I could see a lot of ways to push this method. Thanks.

Have you ever had any problems with the CPA networks due to iframing an offer? Should we not worry about it unless the offer explicitly states no iframes?

What about browser compatibility and cookies? Should we be aware of any problems?

It is always a good idea to check with the network if iframing is ok. Usually it will be set in the Terms of the offer if there is any issue. If you do iframe, make sure that the whole offer page is viewable. In other words, don't try to hide the terms or anything, they won't like that for sure

As far as I know there are no issues with browsers as <iframe> is a standard html tag.

if you're concerned with p3p issues, your best bet is to to discuss with your am..

in brief here are the roots of your concern with frames most likely...

Internet Explorer 6.0's P3P implementation is solely concerned with the issue of cookies. The implementation distinguishes between first-party cookies and third-party cookies. The term first-party cookie is used to refer to a cookie that is transmitted to your browser in the header of the base HTML page that a browser is viewing. The term third-party cookie is used to refer to cookies that are transmitted in the header of included images or frames that come from web sites other than the web site of the base page. In both cases, the browser can be configured to accept or reject cookies depending on whether or not a site has a P3P policy, and on how the policy says the site will handle personally identifiable information (PII).

here is the full dealio..

i always test offers in a live env before i run them. i this case though, i'd just ask my am if iframing is ok and that it works.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for this idea.

Could you, please, provide some html code example for iFrame with an extra image on the top. My problem is that when I try to do iFrame and put some extra stuff on the top of my page, the iFramed offer is getting cut at the bottom.

Thanks a lot.

Hi sv31vrp, welcome aboard

Here is how I do it exactly so you can follow along. I use a php file so you can install whatever tracking mechanism of your choice.

At the very top of the page is:
Code:
<?php

$url = "http://muchachatv0.iqlovetest.cellfish.com/index/quiz/";

?>
In this case, that would be your affiliate link to the offer.

Next comes the html headers:

Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd">
<html>
<head>
<script Language="JavaScript">
self.moveTo(0,0);
self.resizeTo(900,750);
</script>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<title>What Is Your IQ?</title>
<style type="text/css">
<!--
iframe {
    margin-top: 0px;
    z-index: 2;
}
#top {
    background-color: #000;
    z-index: 10;
    position: relative;
    top: 0px;
}
body {
    margin-top: 0px;
    background-color: #000000;
}
-->
</style>
</head>
There are a couple of things to note here. First I added a javascript to resize the window to 900x750. This is a real nice little tip for you to take away, make sure your offer can be seen!

Next, we have some styles. This is going to be used for positioning the iframe properly and styling the page.

Lastly, is the body:

Code:
<body>
<div id="top">
  <table width="100%" border="0 " align="center" cellpadding="0">
    <tr>
      <td><div align="center"><img src="score.jpg" alt="Beat my Score!" width="300" height="70"></div></td>
    </tr>
  </table>
</div>
<iframe src="<? echo $url ?>" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" width="100%" height="1000px" ></iframe>
</body>
</html>
If you are concerned that your iframe is cutting off your offer, then simply increase the height attribute of the iframe tag. In my example I have it set to 1000px which covers it.

One other thing to note is that you can play with the positioning of the iframe with the style. Try and set "margin-top: -20px;" and see what happens. Of course this tactic may be against the TOS and I am not recommending it!

I have also attached a zip file with the files for you to use as your own template.

Default If you have had any problems with Networks over your method

If anybody has any issues with networks not allowing you to I-Frame, use a landing page, etc, make sure to hit me up.

Even on offers that say it isn't allowed, I can often times set up a Private Deal for you with the advertiser, have your iframed/landing page/etc approved and give you one less thing to worry about.

A salute to everyone's success!
