Default Getting Sued

Do you guys ever worry about getting sued for running these iframed quizzes using celebrity pictures?

Possible Issues:

Sued by public figure for defamation of character by making claims or saying "IQ of certain level"

Sued for using image of public figure for commercial gain.

*** Sued by FTC or public figure, because the offer is misleading and you iframed the offer on your own domain and hosting.

I'm not judging anyone. I've been with ppc-coach since 2008 and have run polls in the past. I'm just curious about your thoughts and what you consider acceptable risks with all of the lawsuits going around.

Man I saw a pop up today, it said it was a walmart 3 question customer service survey, (wasn't of course), then it lead to a iframed mobile IQ quiz offer but it didn't say that outright, it said you had to enter your name, email and mobile phone number to get a $250 gift certificate from Walmart. Whoever did that one is begging to be sued.

It is definitely something to think about. As for celebrities, I would NEVER use Oprah in anything I do because they will sue for sure. However, I doubt a large majority have the resources or care enough.

When you are dealing with companies though, you are playing with fire. I know Traffic Vance will make you change your lander if you are misrepresenting.

The FTC is on a rampage to clean up this industry so play by the rules and you will be safe.

Read an interview with DJ Shadow in which he said something about only listing one sample per track on Entroducing because he couldnt be bothered getting them all cleared.

Do you guys really get cease and desist letters from Nintendo? If so I was wondering how you avoid getting sued and also how you deal with the emails.
I was also thinking it would be funny if you made your responses humorous and posted them on your site like the pirate bay does.
