Default Hi Guys, Am I missing something - I expected lots of training

Hi guys,

Just wondering if I am missing something. I expected training that actually teaches you how to put a campaign together the RIGHT way:

Like:

1. what are the best type of offers to promote with CPV
2. How to go about building a list of URL's and keywords (this is covered ok)
3. How many URL's should you use in a campaign, how many keywords should you target?

In your example of a media traffic campaign, you only target 1 URL and a few keywords..... I thought we should have a huge list to start off with---is that not true?

4. How do I go about finetuning my campaign and what to use as metrics..
how long do I let a campaign run before I start to axe keywords/URLS

All of the above are things I expected to find on the site... I even thought I would find a sample campaign that you build from start to finish and how you got it to be successful ( so that we could all follow along and learn)

Now I hope that i have just missed the spot where all this training is available

hope to hear some good news soon

is there anywhere where I can see you guys building a campaign from start-to-finish and explaining all the correct steps to take along the way?

Regards,

Brian

hi there brian,

welcome to the forum. have you been able to take a look at the fan club examples? i take you from soup-to-nuts in that series.

for most of my fan clubs i end up with no more than a handful of targets, but for many other campaigns i start with hundreds and slowly get rid of the drainers overtime.

i'd say promote just about anything you're familiar with to start. there is really no limitation on what types of offers you can promote with cpv.

i generally let a target run no more than 2x payout, but often 1-1.5x. use simple subid tracking for this to start off.

HI Lucas,

Thanks for the reply. To be honest with you, the fan club method is just too involved for me. I am not a technical person so when things involve PHP and setting up autoresponders - thats me gone to be honest.

Is there any other method I could take a look at that would work for me without all that technical stuff?

Otherwise, I think I will have to give this a skip -- I need a simple method i can use with media traffic as the source of traffic ( as thats the one I have an account with---Also, do I have to install prosper202 on a domain or can I just login to their site and track that way?

Regards,

Brian

p.s have you a video that walsk thru setting up 202 tracking with media traffic?

Why don't you skip all the tracking stuff for now and just focus on getting something up. Have you looked at the other methods? sniper, beauty and health rebills, iq? don't be intimidated by the classification of the method (intermediate, advance, etc..).. that's something we're getting rid of anyway.

Brian, we are here to help you succeed so please ask all the questions you want and we will answer them. There are quite a few methods on here already that you can use/modify. However, I understand your concerns:

1. what are the best type of offers to promote with CPV
Honestly, you can promote anything on CPV, it is HOW you promote that counts. That is why we have provided different methods that can be applied to any offer. I have promoted email submits to rebills.

2. How to go about building a list of URL's and keywords (this is covered ok)
We have some nice tools for this and a video walkthrough. there are more tools in the works to get you even more relevant targets

3. How many URL's should you use in a campaign, how many keywords should you target?
There is no answer to this You can approach this different ways depending on your budget. I have some campaigns with one high traffic url that can spend $100/day and I have some with 3000 targets that cost me a couple dollars per day. This will vary with every campaign, but yes, you must test multiple targets to find winners.

4. How do I go about finetuning my campaign and what to use as metrics..
how long do I let a campaign run before I start to axe keywords/URLS
You need to determine your target ROI and stick to it. For example, if you want to earn 100% then you would spend one half the offer payout PER TARGET and kill those that do not convert. I typically let a target run until it equals the payout and then decide if I should test it further.

All of the above are things I expected to find on the site... I even thought I would find a sample campaign that you build from start to finish and how you got it to be successful ( so that we could all follow along and learn)
This is good input and we are listening. We will put something together that hopefully clears it up for you. Meanwhile if you have a particular campaign that you are struggling with, please post questions and we will walk you through step by step.

sorry lucas, where can I find videos about these methods on the site ? and secondly

as regards this statement below , can you expand on it --

You need to determine your target ROI and stick to it. For example, if you want to earn 100% then you would spend one half the offer payout PER TARGET and kill those that do not convert. I typically let a target run until it equals the payout and then decide if I should test it further.

a. lets say I have an offer that pays $10, I am running a campaign with 10 urls
How much should I spend on each URL before i cut it from the campaign. Sorry if I wound stupid asking but I need to know what to look for and when to cut my losses on certain keywords or URLs

Thanks Lucas

If your offer is paying $10 per lead and you have 10 URLs in your campaign:

You spend $10 to $15 on each of your targets to see if they convert or not. Once you reach your max spend you kill it if it is not profitable for you. If you get conversions then try split testing or other similar targets to increase your ROI.

If I had a strict goal of making 100% ROI for the campaign then I would spend a max of $5 to $7 on each URL. If there aren't any conversions then that target will not meet my ROI goal.

It's a little trickier on higher volume targets because conversion rates can vary from day to day and at different times of the day. You still have to go with what your numbers tell you unless you are willing to budget more money upfront while testing.

Thanks for the replies and comments guys - appreciate it

The bottom line for me is that I am completely new ( raw ) and I want to learn this stuff and I appreciate that everything might not be in place right now----so I guess I am going to have to ask for the help here --so here goes ( and I do appreciate your help Sean,Lucas and forum friends --don't think I don't )

OK, I always find that when I am learning it is best to work with an example, so I have picked one out from fluxads for this purpose. (It makes things real, measurable and maybe others will learn from this as well)

Here is a campaignI want to run from fluxads - they tell me it is their top CPV campaign with an epc of 0.16 --- now , what I want to know is:

1. Does this sound like a good epc - ( I don't know) What is a good epc range and when would you not look at a product because the epc is too low.

2. It is a USA only offer so we know the territory ( so thats fine)

3. How many URL's to place in the campaign
IF you were running it from scratch , would you start off broad or would you pick the
best 5 you can research and give them a go..whats the right strategy?

4. Same thing with keywords - go broad with hundreds or just pick 'FREE airline tickets' or 'cheap airline tickets' keywords

5. prosper202 tracking -- do I really need to install that on my server or can I use their
own server?

6. If I go broad and have lets say lots of URL's and keywords, how will I ever get to the stage that I have a select 5 or 6 url's that are bringing in the bacon, plus maybe 5 or 6 keywords that are doing the same, and when do I get rid of the rest of the unperforming stuff on a daily basis --what criteria should I use to delete URL's & keywords

This is the kind of help that a newbie needs guys -- We can run this as a case study of how to help a newbie ( who knows nada, but is willing to learn ) if you like -- I am up for it

Last question --- how much money do you throw at a campaign like this one ? when do you say that's enough - for instance , with your help, can i make this campaign profitable with a daily budget of $10 and running it and finetuning it for 10 days ????

Thats the last of my questions guys --- hope you work with me on this one and help educate me

---just new and needing the sort of guidance with this that I outlined above..

Thanks Sean,Lucas and fellow forum members

Brian

Hi Brian,

Can you tell me the exact offer? If so, then together (me, lucas, and others) will walk you through how we would promote this offer. I will be better suited to answer the specific questions once I know what the offer is.
