Default Some Questions

Hey Guys,

Vincent from Germany here. It's my first day here, and I am normally focusing on PPC, so I have some question for you.

1) What's the advantage of CPV over PPC? or disadvantage?
2) How much money do you need to get started and testing Camps? I heard this can be quite expensive for starters? If not, which one are the networks for low budget?
3) What are the equivalent to adwords, yahoo and msn? I.e. the top 3 and do recommend starting with the number one or is it like with PPC, where you better check out the smaller engines?
4) What are cheap clicks like...I mean, in PPC it's hard to get clicks under 10cents, only if the topics are really, really new, etc. Just to give me a feeling, i have no sense of whether cheap clicks here are 1 cent, 10 cents or if guys are happy with clicks that are 1 dollars.
5) Can we use this for offers on Clickbank? or what are favourites here? zip submits?

(i know, i know this depends on the niche, but just give me some indicators)

Many thanks!

Disclaimer: I haven't yet made money at this, but have only spent $50 on traffic so far. But I might be able to help some.

1) What's the advantage of CPV over PPC? or disadvantage?
They're just different. Coach and most big players preach to do both (and more). Diversify, diversify, diversify. If you have successful PPC campaigns, it's probably not hard to make them work here as well.

2) How much money do you need to get started and testing Camps? I heard this can be quite expensive for starters? If not, which one are the networks for low budget?
AdOn seems to only require $20 to start, and I think that's the lowest entry point. But that's a very very small budget. I am starting with MediaTraffic, which seems to be the "2nd best" source, but only requires $200 to get going. (Best is Traffic Vance but they require $1000 deposit to start)

3) What are the equivalent to adwords, yahoo and msn? I.e. the top 3 and do recommend starting with the number one or is it like with PPC, where you better check out the smaller engines?
There are only 5-6 big names in CPV Traffic. In order of my understanding about their reputation, best to worst: Traffic Vance, Media Traffic, Lead Impact (formerly zango), AdOn Network, DirectCPV(very new), Clicksor. I could be wrong on some of these.

They aren't clicks, they're views. Your destination's are popped up in a window when the user views your target URL or searches for your keywords. Cheap is a half a cent. $0.005. Not sure if any networks still have the base bid that low, but Media Traffic is 1.5 cents base, or $0.015. A few successful people here (including coach) have mentioned they get one conversion from about 800 views in a "good" campaign on average.

5) Can we use this for offers on Clickbank? or what are favourites here? zip submits?
Clickbank: I think so, I hope so, since I am testing some of them right now. It's hard to verify that, hopefully somebody else can give a more certain answer. Offer types: As far as I have gathered, all the same kinds of offers work here just like in PPC, some types probably work even better than in PPC due to less restrictions, no google slaps, etc. Somebody said somewhere here they get 5% conversion on the simple email submits. That's a lot higher than the usual 'good cpv campaign conversion rate' of 0.125%, which means it can still work with the lower payouts.

I just started this month. The first network that I'm using is DirectCPV. Their minimum deposit is $100, but they give you a $25 bonus for signing up. Not the best interface IMO. Had a hell of a time trying to figure out why my LP was being rejected. Kept getting generic "Landing page is rejected". Turns out they don't allow self-starting audio.

I'm paying between .010-.025/view to hold 1st place on about 100 URLs. Getting about 150-200 clicks/day now.

BTW, I'm open to bouncing ideas off each other if anyone is interested.
