Default International URL Question

I'm currently manually gathering URLs from Google. If I was promoting something in the UK and I did a search on "diets", would I do a search on all of google or do I check the option "Only pages from the UK". Do people in the UK often look at the same US created pages as we do? I suppose either way I'll uncover the answer through testing but was wondering if someone can shed some insight.

thanks

Sorry to revive an old thread but I have the same question and can't seem to find the answer anywhere........

If I want to run a campaign in the uk for instance, should I look for url's that come up in google.co.uk, yahoo.co.uk, etc......? Or should I use the same search engine results that American's see. Or should I use both?

I don't mind testing, but I was wondering if google, yahoo, etc., re-route to the proper countries search page based on the user's location, then it would be pointless to use the same url's that Google U.S. search give us. Right?

Thanks,

Simo

I would do both personally. A lot of .com's are universal to the world, but yes there may be specific .co.uk addresses for the UK.
