Default Very Basic Landing Page Question? Newbie needs some guidance!

I'm a transplant from PPC-Coach, where I started out as a complete newbie, so I'm used to using Wordpress for all of my sites. The consensus on here seems to favor the use of landing pages instead of direct linking, so I'd like to do things the right way........

My issue lies in the fact that I have no idea how to make a web page/landing page that does not use Wordpress....... I saw that you guys posted the 30 free landing pages, and I know how to use Photoshop, but how do I upload the landing page to my domain? Sorry for the stupid question but I'd like to put this technical barrier behind me...... Are there any resources on the web that can answer my question? I'm completely lost......

Do you already have a webhost and a domain? If not, pm me and I can help you get set up. There are usually pretty simple GUI tools that can do all of this for you that we can guide you with along the way.

I do have a few hosting accounts and domains, and I know my way around cpanel. Are the tools located within cpanel? Also I sent you a PM but it's not showing that it sent in my sent box. Thanks again!

Default Same Landing Page Problem

I have the same problem. I am only implementing direct linking which has been profitable, but everyone seems to agree that landing pages are the best way to go. I have hosting and a couple of domains, but I am not sure how to load the landing pages to my host. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The best campaign is the one that makes money

Direct linking or landing pages is a means to achieve a campaign that makes money. I have campaigns that worked going direct, but didn't work as well with my lander. I also have many campaigns that only worked when I had a landing page. So think of this as a tool to achieve the goal of making money and test, test, test.

I have hosting and a couple of domains, but I am not sure how to load the landing pages to my host.
As far as uploading pages to your host, after you do it a few times, you get used to it.

Filezilla is a good ftp program for uploading your pages, there's lots out there. What you do is tell the program your domain.com name (might have to type it in as ftp.domain.com, just depends) and then put in your user name and password that you got from either your server (if you have dedicated) or from your host (if you have shared).

Then you just copy files over like you do on your computer, drag and drop kind of stuff. You'll figure it out very quickly and it will all be good.

Is it really as easy as loading dropping the file into a folder via ftp? I'm already used to doing all of that with wordpress stuff (loading themes, plugins, changing file permissions, etc.). Do you guys know of any guides that explain how to do this? I did a google search and can't seem to come up with anything.....

I sent you a PM, but I will post it here for others to see as well if you are using cpanel.

From within cpanel, click on File Manager, this is a GUI FTP interface that will allow you to move the files over. It works just like windows explorer.

Open up your Web Root (public_html/www) and then simply make a folder in there and place the landing page. The url will be www.yourdomain.com/foldername

I hope this makes sense, it is quite easy once you see it. Let us know if you have questions.

Ok I have most of the steps figured out, and the folder made. What format does the file have to be in? Is .png okay? I uploaded a sample landing page and I get an error.....

Here is my folder: /public_html/inforeviewsite/iPad

So it should be www.inforeviewsite.com/ipad correct?

Maybe I have the wrong image loaded..... I'll try a different one.

Ok, update, I made a new folder on a new domain. I just uploaded the first auto insurance landing page (from the 30 that you uploaded) just as a test. I uploaded the index.htm file, and the style.css file. So far it only shows text.

Just took a quick look at your lander and the problem is that you have the stylesheet as "styles.css" yet you have it in a folder and not in the root domain. So you need to tell the webpage where to get the file from. It should be "/style.css" or "ipad/style.css" I think. I'm no coding expert but I usually just play around until I get it right or put the full path in there (http://appleproductsblog.com/ipad/style.css).
