Default Trust Images

Hey, is it legal to use the "trust images" in the fan club example? The fed ex and verisign logos specifically seem like they could be an issue, since they're not related to the offer or used in any part of the process. Or does routing through Aweber let us use verisign's logo? (like if they use verisign in some way)

Is it okay to use them simply because we're not claiming any affiliation? Should we specifically disclaim affiliation in a generic sense? Like: "We are not necessarily affiliated with any companies whose names or logos appear on this site. Any logos are used for example purposes only."

I mention verisign, as they specifically are a company who's brand is built on ensuring internet security/trust. So, using their logo with intent to build trust, if we indeed don't have any implied or express permission as mentioned above, could be bad.

Instead of verisign, maybe some generic shield graphic could be used.

what network? depends on the reviewer sometimes. give it a shot and see what happens. i haven't run into any problems on any of the networks lately with those types of images at all. all the email submits use em worse case scenario, they reject it. i always include a small generic disclaimer too, yes.
