tried the downloads offer and after 1000 impressions, i made 1 conversion for a loss of something like 8 bucks.

so now the question is, what type of URLs should we be working on?

Not all of them work. I would find a traffic source and rotate a bunch of offers at it.

I did celebrity traffic (because I already had an approved campaign) and it was a bust

I believe so, yes. Any offer thats downloaded-able. The idea is that basically these users are OK with downloading and installing cool looking "stuff" on their computer since they did it already with whichever ppv network you are using. I think...

Yep and here's something else. My BEST campaigns for this or PPC come from private affiliate deals. These are the ones where you skip the affiliate network and go right to the source, if they happen to have their own affiliate program that's cool, but some will do private deals with you if you can negotiate well.

I'm not saying affiliate networks are useless, it's just if you can skip the middle man, then why not?

I got denied on a campaign because they won't let me promote adware or spyware on their network

OKay I've been reading through old threads today. How do you do DOWNLOADS when TV specifically says:
Advertisements that are strictly prohibited in the network:

1. Adult advertisements
2. Casino advertisements
3. Advisements that spawn exit pops
4. Toolbar, Adware or download advertisements
5. Anti-Spyware or Scare-ware advertisements
6. Any advertisement that uses trademarks or logos in any way to deceive the user
Any attempt to run these advertisements will subject your account to being banned from the network.

You don't unless you switch around links.

That's a pretty standard list of what they don't like...
