You don't mean the ones where you have to pay a premium for the supposed seo value, do you? You aren't chasing the seo rabbit are you?

no. you can bid on keywords so that any computer with adware installed will have a pop up ad appear when the user hovers their mouse over the word.

say you're bidding on the word diet. the adware user sees the word "diet" with a double underline. when the mouse is hovered over the word your ad pops up. its a form of ppc. traffic vance have it and I've applied yesterday.

same sort of deal as a normal ppc in that its pay per click instead of pay per view.

My bad.

I just saw TV has text link ads and I think Adon did too. After I saw that I was wondering about it, too.

However for TV and Adon I thought it was that they were showing a popup with lots of adwords-style text ads and the user would just click on one the same as adwords.

I was also wondering about toolbar search engines such as GenieKnows or BlowSearch.

I've used and am still using text link ads on TV. I'm getting very little traffic but it does convert well. I spent $23 on text link ads in June and made $100 so good ROI. I only used the keywords that I already know convert very well and its an offer that pays out $20 per conversion. The only downside as I mentioned is the traffic flow - one day I'll spend 0.50 cents, the next nothing and the next $2.50, its kind of erratic.

I should set it up for some other offers but just haven't got around to it...

This looks like the biggest challenge with these 2nd/3rd-tier traffic sources overall: getting sufficient traffic. $100/month is not worth it by itself.

I've seen that clicksor sites have text link ads. I haven't tried it nor have I looked around the clicksor advertiser interface to see how to create a campaign on it.

I've got an offer getting 30k impressions per day and only because I'm limiting it with my budget...(this is a RON campaign, run of network).

Those text ads do work, but volume is low.
