Default Targeting Demographics?

So far I've been basing my offers and keywords on a specific niche like Month 1 horoscopes. But I'm finding my options are a bit limited doing things like this, and many of the offers don't last too long.

So is it a better option to target offers and keywords around a demographic? Say, target male teens? This would probably give a broader selection of offers and keywords, but it wouldn't be as targeted to a specific niche.

Is anyone doing this? It must work in some capacity, since I see offers like credit reports and even email submits advertised on sites that seemingly have no relation to that particular niche. But I don't want to blow my money on something that won't work for affiliates.

Exclamation Contextual links without exit pop ups

I'm having a hard time with finding offers without exit pop ups and not getting any help from AM's in getting links without them - just the run around with the AMs for a week now - no doubt cause i'm not doing any $$.

I found a couple of horoscope offers at Neverblue, but despite talking to the AM and Tina, the biz development person, I still can't get code after a week.

Clickbooth contextual links all have pop ups and they told me to use the direct link, but some of the direct links still have exit pops and I can't find 5 related offers in a category without exit pops.

Hydra told me to use html or banner, but the AMs didn't understand what contextual traffic is. Will this work????? Do banners work? Revenue Loop couldn't get the pop ups disabled and Copeac said they dont' publish contextual links any longer and its the same run around not being able to get code.

I am soooooo frustrated now for a week with this issue of not being able to find 5 related offers in a category without exit pop ups that I want to give up now - I'm tired of calling the AMs. There must be a work around and something i don't know here? CPA Empire and CX declined my app despite my phone call due to website. Where do I go, which network, what do I do,to find offers fast without exit pops ups that will be accepted? How do you get around this?

To get around the pops is simple. Just use a url rotator. when you submit the campaign to the network have an offer with a pop on the exit. once approved just change the rotation to the offer you want with the exit pop.

works every time.

harry1970, you mean put some similar offer without pops in the rotator, and use rotator link. Then once approved, switch offers in the rotator?

didn't think of that before

thanx

Another way around it is to present them with a landing page for the offer. If they click-through then they'll be presented with the offer and the exit pop-ups.

thanks for the replies guys...ok, i'm using the tracker and direct linking here. No landing pages as I'm not good at designing them and technically challenged.

I think I might be doing something terribly wrong here. So, if I just put in the search link or a banner link code, it will work for awhile until I go in and change the link in the tracker and replace it with the one with the pops, is that correct?

I wanted to start out with the astrology campaign - oh, and - Neverblue did get back to me today with one offer with the exit pops removed, finally. This is taking forever!!! What networks do you guys use that make this easy to get contextual links?

I think this thread got a little off topic from what I was asking...

Is anyone successful targeting a specific demographic as opposed to a niche? Would targeting offers and urls catering to, say, teen males work as opposed to only running video game offers and urls?

yes, the secret is finding the right urls. you will kiss a lot of toads before you find your handsome prince though.

If you are using tracker direct to the merchant, then set up a rotation with one offer and send your link there. Then once the it is approved, you use tracker to change the offer in the rotation. This way, your url never changes

I have had them shut my campaign off before because of this bait and switch. Might of just got unlucky and it was only one network, but they nailed all my campaigns at once. I imagine they run scripts every so often or do random checks.
