Default Spyfu for PPV?

I am working on a new tool here that I'm not quite sure if it it'll work or not, but if it does, it'll be pretty friggen sweet. Basically I want a tool that acts like spyfu.com but for ppv. So what I'm working on is how to capture which pop up is launched when the page loads from the networks.

The biggest hurdle is I cannot do this with php and that's my bread & butter.

I'm not even sure if this can be done, but if I do get it working, I will be releasing it here for sure...

Just wanted to give you a heads up.

don't quite understand. first off, i'm not familiar with spyfu. are you essentially writing a browser plugin that monitors the adaware actions? a watcher of a watcher of sorts? browser plugins can be written in a number of languages that i bet you'd find you could pick up quite easily. again, i'm not sure exactly what you want to do and i admit i could be way off of your target goal.

Coach,

Do you realize that by doing this, you will be inflating EVERYONE's PPV bills?

Picture this:

100 people get your tool
they each load it with a 100 popular keywords

Everytime they run the tool, 10,000 impressions will be billed to whomever is the top spot for each keyword.

Unless im misunderstanding what you are trying to do, i dont see a safe way to see other peoples popups without costing them the impression and when many people use the tool, they will seriously inflate everyones ad spend.

Doh, I didn't even consider that. Good point.

I guess the question is, do I proceed with it or scrap it now?

I know guys who are loading up the toolbars and searching manually everyday, I guess they're inflating our numbers too if they're searching for the keywords or urls you're bidding. I'm open to discussion on this. What does everyone think?

On one hand there's a huge benefit to having a spy tool like this in that you'd see and gather data on working campaigns and their keywords and it's not like an adwords spy tool in that the campaign would be served to you on a silver platter. (due to the fact that keywords and urls are mainly exact matched).

On the other hand, it would inflate costs for current users.

I'm glad you did bring this up though as I overlooked it in my excitement for building another tool...

Yeah it would be a spy on the adware. I wouldn't run it manually though, I'd program something to do it for me somehow.

That is if it's approved here.
