Here's another one that is going to be talking about PPV, hopefully though, like alot of these books do, they will not really get into it too much. If they just hype it up and don't really explain the amount of work and testing that goes into it, it can actually turn people looking for the almighty fast cash away from this business strategy.

geez these guys never end with these pump and dumps. They hype up a product, give a little bit of info on a lot of topics, and cause 99% of the people to lose money.

There is such a wide variety of methods talked about on that page and ppv being only one, I doubt we will see more than a little hiccup from out traffic networks.

They dont cover the details like this forum does.
Without proper split testing and keyword tracking they are doomed.

Think of it like PPC. Who doesnt know about that! But are people still making money from it? Ya.
Word will continue to spread. But very few will figure it out. Heck, 90% do nothing with the info they buy.

Coach,

Since you're asking, I was on the webinar and they did a good job.

Harald Anderson conducted the webinar, and if he's the same Harald Anderson that I remember as a mod at Metawebs, he's a good guy. I wanted to listen mainly because of Harald -- and to see about joining Clickbooth.

Matt talked somewhat about PPC, PPV and a new way of marketing through YouTube - something along the lines of buying the page from the kid that posted a high traffic video and then putting links there. The emphasis of the webinar was on finding huge sources of traffic that the masses are not using.

I'm reluctant to mention this here because it could be considered as a competitor to PPV Coach, but Matt also talked about a coaching program he is introducing.

Matt said how he got started in PPC in December 2007 and then made $35,000 per month a couple months later.

The things Matt said about PPV were what we learn here in PPV Coach.

Sometimes I have to reinforce things so I may remember and from my notes here's some things I heard in the webinar and maybe this will help someone else here:
-You're going to have a lot more losers than winners. 90% of campaigns will fail. The good affiliates accept that 90% will lose and won't hesitate to drop those campaigns. Then they ride the winners "hard." Sound like exactly what we learn here.
-You make your money by focusing on the winners and you make your profit by eliminating the losers.
-You always want to give people something to click on and links are the lifeblood of the internet.
-With contextual, you're interrupting the visitor so you have to ask the question that's on the visitor's mind and then answer that question.
-Do your marketing based on demographics.
-Find big streams of traffic and then stand in front of the traffic.
-He mentioned using Clicksor, Zango and Traffic Vance, and he pays from 1/2 cent to 7 cents max per impression.
-Track everything.

I got the impression that Matt is going to focus on his new way of generating traffic (could be the Youtube thing) as a way of moving away from PPC and PPV. He said the new program isn't ready yet.

The conclusion statements were:
1. Find out the top converting offers
2. Find the top relevant kw for those offers
3. Find the demographic related URLs for those offers
4. Track everything
5. Get rid of losers and keep winners

They also offered a $10 credit to Clickbooth for the webinar participants.

Overall, this webinar made me feel glad that what he said was everything I had already learned here in PPV Coach.

Thanks for helping us here Coach. I'm glad to be here and consider it a privelege to get all the help with my questions.

-Aaron

Heh, he got that the youtube buying thing from this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caGLtSQoQ2c

I don't care if he opens up a coaching thing, competition only makes it better for the end user. So he did spill the beans about ppv though? I got severely reamed by a certain person for showing ppv to my ppc coach members, yet it's ok for Matt to go out in front of a whole affiliate network and do the same thing?

That is kinda odd to me.

I listened to it too, and what Aaron said is accurate. One thing to note from my perspective though was that Matt was very very reluctant to talk about ppv. Harald asked very pointed questions and he would sort of stutter around it and kept referring back to placement targeting as being "contextual". So, although he did mention the networks, he didn't really want to talk about it.

For example, when asked about it, he went on and on about the text linking (where your word is underlined and you pay for that) and kind of said "and other ways I can't really think about". Then Harald would get into it and mention adware and popups and how you intercept traffic from others this way.

So, my feeling was that he didn't really want to reveal the "secrets" but Harald wanted to blast it to the world.

Then of course, the whole thing wrapped up with a pitch for his new coaching program. It seems kinda salesy to me.

I did get one thing out of this that I would like to discuss more. He eluded to finding a demographic, find the cheap sources to get to it instead of the high profile urls, and then market to the demographic. This as opposed to finding an offer and figuring out how to market it. Find the market and figure out what offer they want.

Sean,

Now that you mentioned it, it did seem that Matt was relutant to talk about PPV. It was like Harald had to pull out of Matt the name of each network, among other things.

I should have stated above that Matt said some things about PPV (rather than leaving any impression that he covered a lot of PPV info). He did say some things that we already know from PPV Coach, but in PPV Coach we learn a lot more about the ins and outs of PPV. Plus, I really like the structure here of having each new month to learn from.

He eluded to finding a demographic, find the cheap sources to get to it instead of the high profile urls, and then market to the demographic. This as opposed to finding an offer and figuring out how to market it. Find the market and figure out what offer they want.
I would like to discuss this more also. When I did direct mail, I was good at matching the offer to the demo/behavior and response was great. I'd like to do the same thing online and save all that postage cost.
