Default Scaling Campaigns

I have a quick question about scaling back campaigns. My current method is that I give a campaign 1000 impressions and then start get rid of keywords that have not given me any conversions after 200 clicks per keyword. Does this sound like a good method to follow or should I hold each keyword until the cost of each keyword exceeds the payout of the campaign? However, holding each keyword until the cost exceeds the offer payout can become very costly. Thanks.

Regarding "the 200 clicks per keyword," are these 200 click throughs from your landing page?

Or are these 200 impressions per keyword?

For me, I look at around 400 impressions per target or 50-100% of the commission for the offer -- depending on the offer and what mood I am in and how my other targets are performing in the campaign (or in similar campaigns).

Once people get to my lander, I try to get between 4% to 20% conversion rate on the click throughs.

Each campaign will be different depending on the payout of your offer as Aaron suggested. I would look at each target more on a spend basis that a view basis.

You should definitely try some simple landers sometime.

I used to constantly direct link - but now I've found myself building landers a lot more.

My ROI and profits have gone up significantly since I made the change.

A lot of people DL on PPV - so the users see the same offers over and over.

Show them something new!
