Default Progress Update

It's been around a week since I started getting down and dirty with PPV. The first few campaigns proved to be pretty time consuming as I tried to figure out how the tools and the user interfaces. Now, I can pretty much build a new campaign in around 30 minutes (if I concentrate on the task that is).

So far, I think I've created close to 20 campaigns, and I think not one is in the black. I started off using Clicksor, and then I stopped totally after I got absolutely zero conversions with that. I wonder how they manage to get such "awesome" traffic in their network.

Then, I moved on to MT and have only been using them since. I can't get an account with Traffic Vance because I'm from Singapore. Anyway, MT did provide more conversions, but I'm still not profitable yet.

This is how I go about building my campaigns:
  1. Look for CPA offers that pay above $3.
  2. Keyword research on Google. Get relevant keywords and dump them into Coach's tool to generate URLs from the search engines. Depending on the niche, the number of keywords I use could range from 30+ to a few hundreds.
  3. Sieve through the URLs generated, and upload them to MT. My smallest campaign has around 300+ URLs, while my biggest one has 3000+.
  4. Let the campaigns start running, and get rid of any non-converting URLs. (myspace, wikipedia, etc)

Is that the right procedure?

All kinds of input and suggestions are most welcome!

Pretty much man. That's the formula, but imagine how many variables there are to it. The more you do it, the more it will make sense. Also - If you make money off of Clicksor, you will be my hero.

I wouldn't go with that many keywords or urls. 300 is way too many to start.

I like to go small and test in smaller batches then that.

When you test in smaller batches, what keywords do you use to scrape for URLs? Only those with high search volume?

If i'm testing urls using the alexa scraper, I know the top 10 on that list are high traffic volume ones. So i"ll test those.

I just tried scraping URLs from Alexa only, and there seems to be a bug. I could scrape from all the URLs there, but the number could easily get pretty big. Any way around this?

Okay I think I just have to use the Alexa Scraper in PPC-Coach then. It works fine there.
