Default Noob Question about Landers

Hi everyone, first post here for me.

I am new to CPA but have been online a while making money with Amazon and several other similar programmes.

I have been wondering about landing pages for simple email/zip submits for offers such as free giftcards and win an ipad/laptop etc as these are what I am going to start with.

I dont really have much HTML experience and have pretty much been using wordpress exclusively, although I can hack a wordpress theme pretty well if needs be. Are there any good landing page creators/packages/themes for wordpress that you would recommend for promoting the kinds of offers I mention above? I have seen one of two but wanted to get some recommendations.

Also, what would you generally try and include in a landing page promoting something like a free giftcard email submit? Just a clean cut design with some bullets, a few nice looking relevant images and a large 'click here' button? Can anyone direct me to some landing page examples for promoting email submit offers?

I am starting with DirectCPV if that makes any difference.

Thanks for your help, sorry if what I asked has been covered elsewhere, I have spent quite a bit of time reading over the forum but may have missed/forgotten some stuff - a lot of good content to take in here!

Cheers, Ryan

Hello Ryan,

Welcome to the group!

Great questions.

Your wp skills will come in handy with cpv. I don't know of any packages specifically that may help, maybe others here can offer some advice.

I usually grab a wp theme to fit my needs -- depending on the offer and what the demographic might like. I like lots of white space.

Clean and simple designs are great to test.

A large "Click Here" is also a must, be sure to try a button and try a simple text link, you might be surprised which one outpulls the other.

Be sure to give the visitor a reason as to why they were selected and why you are showing them the offer.

Then include a couple benefits and a include a scarcity statement, such as "only available for a limited time."

Another thing to test on your landers is something strange, shocking or annoying. This could be graphics (in somewhat good taste) and audio/video, as sometimes the more annoying the better. I believe it has something to do with interruption marketing -- something akin to having television commercials that are louder in volume compared to the actual show being watched, the commercials keep playing so they must be making money.

Regarding DirectCPV, I believe they run interstitials, so keep that in mind when doing your advertisements. You might want to check on this.

If you know someone doing well with DirectCPV, you'd want to tap them for advice, otherwise figuring out how to be profitable could be a long haul.

I know several people that have done well with TrafficVance and Lead Impact, and those seem to be good places to start with CPV.

Hope this helps,

-Aaron

Ok sounds great thanks for your help.

So basically for each new campaign you buy a new domain and just create a one page website which is used as your lander?

I have heard the DirectCPV interstitials can work quite well, obviously I will just test them out though and see what works with those kinds of ads.

Thanks again, Ryan

You don't necessarily need a new domain for each offer. Try to find a generic domain to run the offers through, then if you find a winner you might want to buy a specific domain and test different elements.

I typically buy one domain per niche. So just buy a big email submit giveaway type domain and you'll be good to go.

You can even have multiple email submits on one lander and target demographically - works rather well.

I try to stay away from Wordpress for CPV - it loads way too slow in my experience.
