Default Need some feedback/tips on current Auto Ins campaign with Media Traffic

Hi All,

I am Faridah. Well, to be honest, I am a complete newbie with CPA marketing and let alone launching successful campaigns...I totally sucked!! So I'm hoping you guys can give your feedbacks, tips and a shout out at what went wrong based on the below:-

I launched an Auto Insurance campaign some time yesterday. The offer domain is Bestquotes.com and it's a zip submit form.

Being a newbie, I am just focusing on launching Direct Linking. No LP whatsoever yet.

So I launched this campaign with MT...Here's what I did...

I only launch URLs focusing on the following 4 keywords below when scraping URLs from Bing, Yahoo and Google...I took in the paid ads on the right as well as the sponsored ads above the organic search listings.

1. Auto insurance guide
2. Car reviews
3. New car buying guides
4. Car mechanics

Frequency cap: 1/48
Country : US

And I ran the following targets(ie:URLs) on MT. I chose "complete URL" from the precision match drop down menu. And I got a total of 434 clicks with no conversions. I'd spent USD10 and now I'm pausing the campaign. I figured, there're things I'm missing here, yet I'm clueless about it.

Firstly I want to know if I'm on the right track here?
Am I targetting the right URL based on my keyword search?
Should I target subdomains. I learned that subdomains receive lesser traffic.
Where did I go wrong? What can be done to improve the campaign?
Or is it that MT traffic sucks?

FYI...I ran a few other campaigns with 0 conversions.

Also, as you can see there are no keywords...Mainly because:-

1.I do not know how to run the campaign with keywords on MT. How does it work? What keywords should I target? Where can I scraped for targetted, relevant keywords?
2.Which drop down menu I need to select in the precison match section?

Ok, that's about all. I'm sorry for the long post...but I just want to give as much details here...

I'd appreciate your feedbacks, tips and comments.

Thanks so much,
Faridah

Hi there,

A few things that might help. First off, have you tested the offer? I have found a lot of these insurance zip submits don't convert.

Second, spending $10 will not really tell you anything. Are you tracking? If so, where was the money spent? You must use tracking to be successful in affiliate marketing.

Lastly, you must think like the consumer. Is someone who is going to popularmechanics.com interested in car insurance? I would guess not. Insurance doesn't cover repairs (perhaps warranties would though!)

Its usually the offer that is the problem, try rotating more than 10 ins offers.

Default Tracking

Hi mate, I agree with Rome...if you got 434 clicks you need to know which url triggered those clicks.

If you use tracking that is how you can tell which URL was clicked.

I have just invested in Voluum which is the best but if you are skint try adsbridge as heard good things about them and its free.

Also, as said previously the URLs are not exactly targeted to insurance.
I was told that to test any campaign whatever the payout is, times that by around 4 to 5 in order to test properly.

So if payout is $3, you must be prepared to spend/invest $15 dollars minimum to test it.

Buying media without tracking is like holding up your $10 bill and setting fire to it. If you dont know where your clicks are coming from, you can not tweak the campaign.
