Default Media Traffic Question

Hi,

I have just set up a new account with Media Traffic. I plan to begin by testing a lot of offers and then focusing on and optimizing those that show some promise.

I was going to start by direct linking for offers such as zip/email submits and some short forms, then make landers for the best performing offers to test them out as well. Am wondering if anyone has been doing the direct linking successfully as Media Traffic ads are not full screen - is this even worth trying?

I feel it will be the quickest way to get a lot of campaigns up and running in a short time period so I can find out which ones are worth spending more time on.

Thanks a lot, Ryan

This sounds like a great plan. You will get a feel for building campaigns and what works and doesn't work very quickly. You can certainly direct link, but make sure to check that your offers fit in the screen. A great way to do this is to use our Preview Popper.

Ok sounds good, I've decided to start off with the probability shotgun approach and see what sticks!

Had forgotten about the prievew popper - great tool thanks!

I have a bit of a problem with the preview popper. Because I am in the UK, I cant actually view most of the landing pages for the offers I promote because they dont accept UK traffic. Instead I use a US proxy to view the landing page. Sometimes I have to try a few different ones but the majority of the time I can get to see the landing page this way.

If I go to CPVDen using a proxy server and then try to use the preview popper it never seems to work. I have tried using a few different proxies but they all have the same problem. Obviously the preview popper works fine for pages I dont need a proxy for, but for most of them I need to use one.

Anyone know of a way around this?

Cheers, Ryan

You can use proxify.com to enter the tracking link you get from the network. Then when it appears you'll see the link you entered has changed to the real link the offer is using. Take that link and put it in the popup preview and you'll see how it will really display via CPV.

I've used Media Traffic quite a bit and I'd suggest trying some higher paying offers as well. At 0.015 per view it can be tough to make email/zip submits work. Also be careful testing keywords on MT as they can blow through your budget fast. You could set up 2 campaigns - 1 for keywords and 1 for targets to keep closer tabs on it.

Thanks Jill for the great suggestion! I was trying to think of a way to do this and you came up with a great solution.

Thanks a lot espresso, great thinking!

I will be trying some higher paying offers pretty soon as well, the only reason I am not at the moment is because I am just direct linking while getting used to CPV. Im assuming this wont really be effective for offers which require a bit more of a commitment from the customer? I may try it with a few short form offers to see what happens though.

Just trying to get used to setting up campaigns, researching URL's and sorting out tracking and stuff at the moment.

Did you manage to have any success at all with MT email/zip submits then?

Cheers again, Ryan

No I didn't have any luck with email/zip submits. Or should I say I did for awhile and then profitiability dropped away. The thing with such a low payout is that you have to watch them very closely.

I direct link for offers ranging from $5 to $40. Its bizarre but even for offers that I know don't look great in the pop up window, they still convert better than any landing page I've been able to come up with. Landing pages are something I really need to crack!

Anyway, its probably worth testing a few different offers with varying payouts. You maybe surprised.

If you're still having issues viewing USA based offers you should check out Overplay VPN. They've got servers all over the world that you can connect to and have an IP in. Then you can view the offers without an issue.
