Default Many campaigns, $150 down and need some help!

I have been following this forum for a couple of months and started my CPV journey with all the guidance from this forum. I am stuck and need some help.

A quick summer of my progress:

I started CPV with 50onRed and Prosper 202 tracking with a VPS for landing pages and a separate VPS for Prosper.

I have launched 10 campaigns and still not had a profitable campaign. The good news is I have had results (not the ones I'd like but results I've learned from). So, I created 6 landing pages, 5 failed with a 0.05% CTR and one of the last two I split tested had a CTR 8.77%!

I assume that is pretty good, however, I unsure.

So, my questions are as follows:

How can I do URL research effectively?
- So far I have gone through two different strategies... PPV url scraper and 3 different categories of top 50,000 Alexa ranked sites.

Am I doing something wrong or do I just have to keep testing offers?
- I am split testing offers and have contact with my managers at both CPA networks (Peerfly & Grabads Media). I am trying to tackle offers $3+ and currently running the dating Niche. My strategy has been direct linking to offers and seeing if they convert and then running the traffic to a landing page to pre-sell them.

My results so far:

4 Conversions = $19.50 revenue
8929 Impressions = $179 ad spend

Based on my results, is there something you can suggest?

I am determined to make this work, I do not wish to work 9 to 5 anymore and I'm tired of quitting. I am willing to change my strategy as many times as I need to in order to make this work. However, I need some help getting this down. I know PPV is all about testing and adjusting your strategy so I want to make sure the path I am on is correct and if not what I can do to get on the path to success.

Any help will be appreciated!
