Default How to check your own ads before launch?

I guess this may be more of a newbie question, but after I've signed up with a Network, how do I test my ads to see what will show when I input a URL to my browser?

Do the networks give you some kind of software for this? If so, does it only launch your own ads in test mode on your PC, or is it like a full-blown regular DL install which will also launch other ads when I do other URL's?

No, the networks don't provide any software for previewing. You can set up a virtual machine and install their software (GameVance or Hotbar) to see your target pops. But your campaign has to be active for that. If you just want to preview the look of the pop you can use the CPVDen Tool, preview popper for that.

Instead of a VM, is it common for you guys doing this to simply setup an old PC and install a game, to test ads? (and recon what others are doing)

And if I install 2-3 games from 2-3 different Networks, and type in a URL that's heavily bid on, will I get 2-3 popups, one from each? (or do they do tricks to cancel each other out?)

And do these games un-install fairly cleanly? (no popups from a Network after it's game is uninstalled)

Surely, someone here has been down this road

Ok, as a followup, I setup an older WinXP machine and signed up for an account with just Gamevance, and installed their little .exe.

That was about 2-3 days ago, and I'm not seeing any popup ads. I'm going to music, mobile, and game websites that one would think for sure TrafficVance marketers would be bidding on, but I'm getting nothing. I'm tying both FF and IE8 browsers on this machine.

Any suggestions? Or does Gamevance wait a few days before it starts showing you popups?

I have a low quality laptop that I purchased from Best Buy when I first started PPV.

I asked my rep at TV for a link to download the software - he sent me one and it's been getting pops ever since.
