Default Help With Keyword Insertion

Hey All,

I have been trying to get the dynamic keyword placed on my landing page. I have been able to do this no problem with Leadimpact by using the following:

http://mysite.com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=%keyword%

and using : <?php echo($_GET["t202kw"]) ?>

But I just cannot get it to work with Media Traffic I have used a similar process but the keyword does not show up on my landing page.

I tried the following:

http://mysite.com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=?target_passthrough=whatever keyword

http://mysite.com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php...rough=whatever keyword

and using : <?php echo($_GET["?target_passthrough"]) ?>

The only way I can get it to work is as follows:

http://mysite.com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php...rough=whatever keyword

But this last method obviously does not track through 202.

Please please could someone help me out with this. It's driving me crazy!

Thanks
Adam

I think you should change your link like this
http://mysite.com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=&target_passthrough=whatever keyword

Hey Guys,

Thanks so much for your help, I understand what you are saying but the problem is that with "keyword passthrough" enabled in mediatraffic they add

?target_passthrough= (they add this including the question mark so I cannot add the & as you suggested)

to the end of my url and so I cannot figure out how to setup the php code to enable the keyword to pass to my page.

I thought I could just change

<?php echo($_GET["t202kw"]) ?> TO The following

<?php echo($_GET["?target_passthrough"]) ?> but this did not work.

Thanks again
Adam

the ? in there is not needed. like so.
<?php echo($_GET["target_passthrough"]) ?>

this should pass it through,. if the link is setup like zacyeahcpa said
http:// mysite .com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=&target_passthrough=whatever keyword

Thanks again and sorry for asking more questions.

As you said :

<?php echo($_GET["target_passthrough"]) ?>

this should pass it through,. if the link is setup like zacyeahcpa said
http:// mysite .com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=&target_passthrough=whatever keyword

this works just fine when I do it manually (thank you) but adding in the "&" sign is out of my control because MediaTraffic add in "?" sign and not "&" sign

eg: http://www.yourdomain.com/?target_passthrough=insurance

When you are doing this with MediaTraffic how do you make it work?

I really appreciate the time you have taken to help me.

Adam

So, here are the four match types that you can do with MediaTraffic:

target = Complete URL
Enter your target without any Precision Match syntax if you want to trigger a destination view when your target is found anywhere in the Internet address visited by a user. Ex: Your target could be matched anywhere in this address:
domain.c0m/page.html?query_argument=data

"target" = URL without query string
Enter your target within quotes to signify that you want your target
to be matched only in the bold part of this example Internet address:
domain.c0m/page.html?query_argument=data

[target] = Query string only
Enter your target within brackets to signify that you want your target
to be matched only in the bold part of this example Internet address:
domain.c0m/page.html?query_argument=data

*target* = Search engine
Enter your target within asterisks if you want it to be matched only
to search engine queries. Ex:
searchengine.c0m/results.html?search_query=search string

EX:
yourdomain. com/?target_passthrough=search string

Thanks so much java for your help,

I have read all that on the media traffic website. I still do not see how I can use dynamic keyword insertion while MediaTraffic add ? in the url when I need & instead.

Thanks again and I don't expect you to answer this. I am sure you're sick of me at this stage

Cheers

Never will get sick of anyone, Its about trouble shooting this so we can get the proper data.
So then we can make changes from what data we receive.
i don't use MT, im on adon & DCPV so far.

but this is interesting.
It looks like you;ll need to use this syntax (this is where you will have to test the combos)
?query_argument=
so your link would look like this.
http:// mysite .com/xxxxxxx/xxxxxx.php?t202id=xxxx&c1=[[subid]]&t202kw=&query_argument=data

in your LP
<?php echo($_GET["query_argument"]) ?>
