Default Follow Along with Me on My Newbie CPV Campaign

...warning, some animals may be harmed in the making of this post...

OK, I'm a newbie to cpv and thinking it might be fun and educational to do a campaign along with everyone else, sharing the gory details, the ups and downs, etc.

First, your thoughts on my idea of the campaign and networks to try:

1) The campaign is a campaign to get donations for the ASPCA (animal welfare group), payout $40, pays on donation, it's on hydra and supposedly is doing well

2) The traffic source would be MediaTraffic or Zango (or whatever it's called now), basically b/c this is a US-based offer and these are the networks I'm already a member of anyway.

The plan for lp is to show pictures of animals that provoke a reaction, nothing too gory, but that get people thinking of cruelty to animals and make them want to stop it and take out their wallets, with a simple message of, Help Me! or Help Stop This!

Thoughts?

It would be good to try a couple of different tacks on your lp. One thing I think works well with charities is being specific. With the Pakistan floods for example, there was a lot of talk about how $2 would pay for clean water for 10 children for a week (or something like that). You could try a similar thing with this - "Just $10 will save 5 kittens from being put to sleep" (or whatever the focus of the offer is).

@espresso That's what I love about this offer! There are so many potential tacks to take on it. I'm looking on their website now for example campaigns. But I read a post on some popular cpv blog about how shock works for cpv, and I can think of so many appropriate ways to shock people with this one.

You're right about $X can save X number of cats etc. But I was thinking of going more direct, like, "This man wants to kill these cats. Donate here to stop him!" I mean, there really are cases where horrific abuse is happening and these groups step in to stop it.

I just wonder how much is too much...and what the cpv network would allow.

Wouldn't you need a picture of a man for that to work? Do they already have that? I just logged into Hydra but I don't have approval so can't see the creative.

One thing I just thought of was using the image of that woman who dumped a cat. I read this morning that she's been charged: http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp...krEXHDtP1SSJGQ

Don't Let Him Starve Cecilia!

Save Cecilia!

How's that for a pop?

Then it would link to an LP which is a flog-type thing, but legit, because it will be by me, a real animal lover, and it will talk about dogs in puppy mills being starved to death when no one wants to buy them anymore.

What do you think?

The LP could even be on blogspot (no?) savececilia.blogspot.com

The information, including Cecilia, comes from the ASPCA's website.

@espresso I'm not sure I need a picture of a man after all. I could just use the dog--or do you think it would help to have a pic of the man too?

That's a great idea about the cat bin woman story--I could really target that, I'd just have to think of keywords.

That would be eye catching as a pop. I think giving people a story on your landing page is a great idea because I imagine that people that want to donate would get emotionally involved with the picture and then need some facts to back it up and prompt them to take action.

For the cat woman, I couldn't remember where I read about her so typed 'cat cruelty' into Google and there she was. Lots of news urls would be good to target too.

Look forward to hearing how you go.

Anyone have any thoughts on using blogger as the platform for the lp (not the pop)? Would they allow this? Or should I just use the typical WP flog format?

Also, would the cpv networks allow my emaciated dog pics?

I don't think it matters whether you use blogger or not. At this point it is time to launch and test! Go with a simple lander and analyze the CTR and test a couple others against it. Sometimes the most well thought out campaign fails and the one you throw together on a whim is successful. As you know by now, it's all about testing!
