Question First Campaign

Late yesterday I launched my very first campaign in the horoscope month 1 niche in Canada rotating 3 offers, with 5 keywords (3 url's and 2 actual keywords). I'm using Media Traffic and I know it's live. At this writing there has been 0 traffic. My question is, does this seem to be a resonable possibility? Should I be investigating if I did something wrong? Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I should proceed from here?

I get very few impressions with Media Traffic in the UK. And my url targets were exact order pages of competing products. After getting just a few impressions, their account exec told me to change the url's to the main url, not the exact order pages. Still just a trickle of traffic.

Got the url's off the ppv scraper by putting in "horoscope", all at least 4 PR. Took 2 keywords that were common to the 3 url's and the 3 offers. So, I believe my answer to Charles is YES.

Thanks for your feedback, Charles and Lycos. Anything further would also be appreciated.

If you're not being outbid, then it's possible those sites just don't get much traffic from MT. I've done dozens of campaigns with them that yielded no results.

The name of the game is build, build build ... instead of launching and waiting to see what happens, keep building new campaigns. As long as you keep a modest testing budget for each campaign and cut the losers out quickly, you'll keep your testing expenses under control.

It could be under review, email them to get the traffic flowing faster...

PR wont give you any clue to traffic which is what I meant by popular.
Alexa or Quantcast can give you a ranking. The smaller the number the better.

Thanks for all the feedback. In answer to Coach, the campaign was live late 10/7 or early 10/8 according to my AM at MT.

The 3 url's I'm bidding on have the following rankings:
#1 Quantcast 37,670 Alexa 129,601
#2 Q not showing Alexa 400,335
#3 Q 45,948 Alexa 105,192

Should I question my AM as to why no traffic? Should I add more keywords/url's? Should I just let it be and go on to something else? Should I put the same campaign on another network? Any and all advice would be appreciated. As I've indicated before, I'm really new to all this.

Thanks in advance to all.

Those websites tell you what the total traffic is of the site. It could be the folks who downloaded the software from media traffic aren't visiting those sites, even though they appear to be fairly large sites.

Something to keep in mind -

You don't know where a user will surf to.
You don't know what offers a user is interested in when they do get there.

This is why you build a lot, cull the bad, and rotate offers to find converting ones. Take yourself out of all of the decision making. Just build and you will be surprised. What you thought would work, often won't and the reverse is also true. What makes sense to you, doesn't make sense to other people.

Hope that helps your testing,
Chad
