Default Conversions Way Up Today!

Hey PPV Peeps,

Maybe I've appeared a little disgruntled lately with all my Tracker issues, so I thought I'd share some good news. After a week or so of mediocre to low conversion days I checked my stats this morning and had already made well above my daily average. Before noon!

Didn't change too much, just expanded one of my campaigns to include international traffic, which led to one new conversion. And a campaign I spent a lot of time on launching, which was looking like a total dud, has started to convert a little.

I forgot how good it feels when this shit works.

I'm starting to relate to the "disgruntled" part all to well...

It stinks that the most important tool here just doesn't work here....and apparently never has.

As for the other tools, what do they matter without the tracker working? Whatever they do matter, it's far less than they would matter if the tracker worked.

Take the Keyword/Url List Maker. I have a tool that does what it does already (it grabs up to 1,000 url's from each search engine and I could adapt it to work for Alexa and Quantcast in a few minutes). So this tool was of very limited value to me to start with as I would have been using my own tool anyway.

Ditto for the Keyword/Url Permutator. Unless you do want to permutate url's? I don't see the value in that but maybe I'm missing something (I also noticed Coach didn't permutate them in his video either). But instead of learning the minutia, I've spent 99% of my time trying to get the tracker working -- and once I gave up on that I then installed a couple of other scripts (like Prosper202, etc.) to see if they would do what was needed but, of course, they won't.

And I think I could emulate the Campaign Launcher with Excel very easily.

So the only tool here that matters to me is busted.

Did you (and everyone else here) just give up on tracking and start "shooting in the dark" by just using the tracker as a url rotator? (The url rotation is all I've seen that works -- and I already had one of those too, LOL!).

What's the problem with Prosper202? I've been using it since I started here almost two weeks ago, and have run more than 40 campaigns through it so far, works a treat. I haven't made any money yet, but that's another story!

P202 works a little differently from Coachs tracker, but it's very straightforward and user friendly, so easy to get started. The Spy tab, which shows clicks as they come in in real time, is great because you can see instantly when the networks approve your campaigns. Probably not good for stat-junkies though.

You don't suspect that not tracking properly might be part of the reason you haven't made any money yet? If you don't mind saying, what's the main reason you're not making any money?

Anyway, I wasn't knocking Prosper202. I was stating the fact that it is setup for PPC and not PPV. Prosper202 works exactly as it should as far as I have been able to tell. But when you rotate multiple offers, you can enter only one revenue amount. The only way this is accurate is if you use 5 offers that pay the exact same amount.

If there's no "big breakthrough" in getting the tracker here working, I'll certainly be using P202 and just doing the cost/revenue reconciliation in some other manner. It's the best alternative I've found.

But it still sucks that the most important tool here is busted (and has been since the beginning from what I can tell from reading here on the forum) especially when the sale's page I read before joining says:

Access to the tools I use personally, (this is probably the biggest benefit for the site as tools make your life easier)
So the most important part of the "biggest benefit for the site" hasn't been delivered. I don't like that for some reason. Call me weird, LOL!

Is everybody else using P202, some other tracker or just shooting in the dark?

Who said I wasn't tracking? I already said, I'm tracking every campaign through P202 and it's working a treat. My current issue is I can't get more than a few hundred impressions a day from the PPV networks, nothing to do with tracking.

P202 does PPV perfectly - it even has fancy little icons for all the PPV networks, so you can see at a glance where you're clicks are coming from.
True, you can't put in different revenue per offer, so I do what I understand most others using it do - put in the lowest.

Most of the offers for a particular market pay similar amounts anyway, so if you're rotating three crush offers for example, they might pay between $6.50 and $9.50. Either put in an average, or just the lowest. If you show a profit with that, you know you're doing ok

The main aim of tracking is to see which URLs / KWs are converting. Strictly speaking you don't need any revenue stats for that, just to see conversions is enough. Obviously accurate figures would be nice, but what are the options realistically - not run any campaigns at all because Coach's tracker doesn't work, or track using something else that's good enough to get the job done?

It was pretty clear within a day of joining this place that the tracker supplied has never worked, which is why personally I just went for another solution. I guess you could wait for it to be fixed, but on past performance, that's not likely to be soon.

Thanks for the answer.

FYI, did you see the thread where someone else couldn't get impressions? It Sunday I think.

If not, someone posted to up your daily spend far beyond what it is set to in this case. For example, if it is set to spend $25/day but you can only manage to spend $5, set it to $100/day and you can start to spend your $25.

Of course, you might spend the $100 I think, LOL! But maybe that would work for you.

I'd already decided to do almost exactly this

I'm a little more stubborn and not quite as fast to spend $ I guess.

Anyway, I'm now in touch with someone that apparently has Coach's tracker working, so maybe my reluctance (and complaining) will pay off, LOL!

You aren't alone in feeling a little screwed. You were promised something on sign up. Access to very valuable tools. Those tools don't work. Plain and simple.

If you're asking yourself "then why the hell don't you just leave and quit your gripeing?". I'm considering it, no doubt. But I like the community and occasional support when I need it.

Hey table32: What url scraping tool are you using? Or is this something you built personally?

My own. "Built" is probably too kind a word though - more "cobbled together" I wanted to be able to specify the country domain, pick up ad urls as well as those from serps, and de-dupe automatically, and I don't think the scraper here does that.
