In your video you talk about doing something other than pop culture. Do you have an example?

hi there,

the fan club method in various forms accounts for most of the money i make online. i've applied it to books, products, events, people, places - you name it. did you have a more specific question? i can't really show all of my sites, so i just used pop culture as a good simple starting point because there are so many resources out there for pop-culture.

I've been using this for some quick inspiration!

Fan Club Overload!

This is probably some of the more obvious stuff but it shows that there can be a fan club for almost anything. The good part is that the list updates based on popularity, fanbase, etc.

dude, that's an AWESOME little resource. sean, i think it's about time we installed the thanks button :)

This is another dandy one that some of you may already be familiar with.

Real Live Fan Clubs

It looks like a good place to grab content ideas when you have no clue about the fan club you are promoting! :D

yah, fanpop is a great resource. i mention them in the research videos i think.

can you talk about what kind of offers / content you can drip with the emails? I was thinking apparel, posters, books, dvds, etc. Most of these things are pay per sale, but can you somehow push lead offers? Maybe ringtones or quizzes?

PapaBear 06-14-2010 04:08 PM

hi there,

all those ideas are great. i do all sorts of stuff. one thing i ALWAYS make certain to use is a nice template. the aweber templates do fine. try this idea. mail them something like this.. tell them you're trying to make the fan club more exciting and looking for new ideas. tell them you're looking for ideas in order to approach sponsors so that you can get them more freebies. don't worry about what they respond..then a week or so later, tell them you got your first sponsorship and send them a fat rebill. you'll burn most of them, but that should give you some ideas on where to start. there are tons of ways and that's just ONE ;)

everything on that list you mentioned is possible though and i've done them all on various campaigns.

Do people still buy ringtones? I thought everyone said that's outdated?
