Default The Self-Targeting Method

Self Targeting

If you are new to CPV Marketing, this may be the first light bulb that goes off. Quite simply, with self-targeting you are targeting the same URL and/or company of the offer you are promoting.

For example, if you are promoting an offer from SettleMyDebt.com, then you would quite simply target the url settlemydebt.com. You can take this one step further and do a search in Google for every url that is indexed on the site and target those url's too.

If you were to run this search: http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Asettlemydebt.com (which would be the same as entering site:settlemydebt.com in the Google search box) you get 104 results! So there are 104 urls you can target.

One warning however, some networks do not allow self targeting so be sure to check the terms of each network you plan to run this on before launching.

A tip to get the url through and approved is to make a campaign with a large number of urls (preferably more than 100) and 'slip in' the self-targeted url. A lot of times they won't catch it. You can then pause the other urls if you wish and only run the self-targeted ones.
